myOEY.live.gov.gr: Launch of video conference platform to inform Greek entrepreneurs about business opportunities abroad and foreign residents about business opportunities in Greece

As of today, Greeks wishing to expand their business activities to new markets abroad and foreign residents who wish to do business in our country have the possibility to hold a video conference through the myOEY.live.gov.gr platform. This new digital service enables interested parties to book an appointment with specialized officials serving at the Offices of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Missions Abroad, so that they obtain information on legal, tax, commercial and other matters without the need for physical presence. The platform, which will initially be piloted in specific markets, was implemented in the framework of the cooperation between the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tasos Chatzivasileiou, with the aim of supporting the extroversion of Greek businesses and attracting investments.

More specifically, to schedule a video conference, interested parties enter the platform, either directly at myOEY.live.gov.gr or via gov.gr in the "Business Activity" section and "Business Support" subsection, using their TaxisNet account code, and select the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of their choice, the thematic category of provided services, as well as the date and time of the video conference. In the event that someone does not have a TaxisNet access code, the appointment can be scheduled by a third party. It should be stressed, however, that it is necessary that the interested party personally attends the video conference. The new service provides a completely secure, encrypted channel that protects the conversation and personal data.

Interested parties can hold a video conference with respect to one of the following categories:

  1. I want to export: General information on the market, customs procedures, product certification, competition, trade fairs, business missions, consumer habits, etc.
  2. I want to start a business: Information on the business environment, institutional framework, legal forms of business entities, taxation, investment incentives, etc., applicable in the country of the selected Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs.
  3. I have a problem/ trade dispute: Information on how to verify the existence of a company, commercial mediation, any problems with customs or other authorities, etc.
  4. I want to invest in Greece: Information to foreign potential investors in Greece on cutting-edge sectors, investment incentives, procedures and the competent authorities and bodies in Greece.
  5. I want to be involved in development cooperation: Information on participation in development cooperation projects from Greek interested parties in the country of the selected Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs' jurisdiction (if applicable).

Please note that during the pilot phase, the "myOEYlive" platform will be available for the Offices of Economic and Commercial Affairs in Toronto, Buenos Aires, Beijing, Johannesburg, Belgrade and Rome, while eventually it will expand to the entire network of Offices of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The project is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Annual Action Plan 2025 and it will also be included in the National Digital Transformation Strategy (Digital Bible) 2025-2028, the strategic roadmap for building a more competitive and resilient economy and society, in line with the Digital Decade policy programme 2030.

The platform was developed by the General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Governance (GSIS) of the Ministry of Digital Governance, in cooperation with the General Secretariat for International Economic Relations and Extroversion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the responsibility of the Secretaries General, Demosthenis Anagnostopoulos and Dimitris Skalkos, respectively. It follows the cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Governance for the creation of the myConsulLive platform concerning services provided by Consular Authorities. It has been developed along the standards of myDesklive, the digital appointment services developed by the GSIS that have been successfully used by a number of public agencies, such as the Unified Social Security Fund (eEFKA), the Citizens Services Centres (KEP), The Public Employment Service (DYPA), Municipalities, Consular Authorities and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE).
