On 11th February 2011, Ambassador Haralampos Dimitriou, Director for South-Eastern Europe at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the General Director for countries of South-Eastern Europe at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Davor Vidiš, held bilateral consultations, in the framework of the regular political contacts between the two countries.
The two sides confirmed the excellent bilateral relations and examined the prospects of further development of cooperation, in particular in the fields of trade, economy, tourism, culture and education, as well as the possibility to enhance bilateral contacts, on a political level.
Furthermore, the two sides took stock of the situation in the wider region of Western Balkans, but also of the southern Mediterranean, in view of recent developments. They confirmed their commitment to the European perspective of all the countries of Western Balkans and the Greek side reiterated its support to the Croatian goal to conclude the accession negotiations as soon as possible. The two sides also exchanged information and views on issues of particular national interest for each.
Mr. Vidiš was also received by the Secretary General of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ioannis-Alexios Zepos, by the Special Secretary for the Development of International Programmes, Ms. Maria Logotheti, by the Director General for Political Affairs, Ambassador Tryphon Paraskevopoulos and by the Director General for EU Affairs, Ambassador Frangiskos Verros.
