Prime Minister George Papandreou and Foreign Minister Stavros Lambrinidis will participate in the “Friends of Libya” conference in Paris on Thursday, 1 September 2011.
Members of the international community who until now were in the Libya Contact Group will convene to discuss the ‘day after’ in Libya, in light of recent developments. The Libyan National Transitional Council has taken on a great responsibility: to guide the Libyan people through the next steps in democratization, institution building and development of infrastructure that has been destroyed. Major humanitarian problems require immediate attention. Together with its European partners, Greece stands ready to assist.
