Prime Minister George Papandreou will be in Brussels on 23 and 24 June to participate in the meeting of the European Council. Mr. Papandreou will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Stavros Lambrinidis and Alternate Foreign Minister Mariliza Xenogiannakopoulou.
Discussions will focus on the economic situation in Europe and the strengthening of economic governance in the eurozone. Other items on the Council agenda include illegal migration, the course of Croatia’s EU accession negotiations, and developments in North Africa and the Middle East.
