Response to a journalists’ questions concerning an event, held in a rented venue at the War Museum, presenting a book by a PKK member

Foreign Ministry spokesman Gregory Delavekouras made the following statement in response to journalists’ questions concerning an event, held in a rented venue at the War Museum, presenting a book by a PKK member and to what extent this fact raised an issue with Greece’s position on terrorism:

“Greece condemns all forms of terrorism unequivocally. This is also the position of the European Union as a whole, as a matter of principle and as concerns the PKK organization.

Yesterday, there was a privately organized event for the presentation of a book written by a PKK member, in a rented venue at the War Museum, without the knowledge of the competent authorities. The Ministry of Defense held an inquiry on the matter and those responsible were held accountable.

This event has no relation whatsoever with the Greek government and runs contrary to our longstanding position on terrorism.

Therefore, there is no issue”.
