Secretary General for International Economic Relations on visit to Panama and Colombia (5-9 June 2017)

The Foreign Ministry's Secretary General for International Economic Relations, Giorgos Tsipras, begins a two-day visit to Panama today, aiming to encourage Greece's economic and trade presence in new markets. He will complete his trip in Colombia, where he will remain until Friday.

In the two countries, Mr. Tsipras will meet with the Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Trade, Agriculture and Tourism to discuss ways to strengthen institutional cooperation and create a business-friendly framework for activity in these specific markets.

He will also meet with heads of sectoral agencies and with representatives of the business world, with whom he will exchange information and proposals on specific export and investment opportunities.

Also a priority on Mr. Tsipras's itinerary are the meetings he will have with the Greek communities of Panama and Colombia, particularly since it has been decades since a Greek official visited these countries.
