Delivery of Legal Documents

Civil and penal legal documents can be transmitted for service from/to the competent Greek Judicial Authorities through the H2 Directorate for Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which consequently forwards them to the responsible Foreign Service Authority.

The Consular Authorities are responsible for the delivery of legal documents to Greeks abroad. However, the person to whom it is addressed is not obliged to receive the document. Foreign documents are transmitted, through the Authorities of the Foreign Service and consequently, the H2 Directorate for Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
