Services

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides services (procedural transactions such as administrative affairs, translations and certificates) for Greek citizens or Greeks abroad and assistance in case of emergencies through the Greek Missions abroad and the H2 Department at the Ministry (tel.: 210 3682631, email : dh2@gmail.com). The specific services provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as those that are provided in conjunction with other Ministries or other public agents, are listed below. With the imminent launch of the “Digital Transformation of Consular Service Procedures”, the H2 Directorate participates in the relevant working groups of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ensures the completion of the preparations, as well as the monitoring of the proper implementation of the new Digital Service from the Consular Authorities, etc.

This section includes detailed information on visas for Greeks travelling abroad (visa requirements by country of destination, Authority responsible for issuing visas to Greeks) and for foreigners wishing to visit Greece and, by extension, the Schengen Area (visa requirements by country of origin, Greek or foreign Authorities that issue visas for Greece abroad). With regard to Schengen visas, you will find a description of the types of Schengen visa issued, the Schengen institutional framework (in particular, the Schengen Borders Code), as well as procedural issues concerning the issuing of Schengen visas.

This section offers to enterprises and agencies all the relevant information on Greece’s economic and trade relations with EU member-states and third countries, investment and trade opportunities opening up abroad or any possibilities of participation in development projects. It also includes information on Foreign Ministry projects under public consultation as well as tendering procedures of the Foreign Ministry.
