Special Service- Executive Unit of the NSRF, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs develops new fields of economic, social and cultural activities, which require the creation of mechanisms and the development of infrastructure, in order to make its operation more effective.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs capitalizes on the possibilities provided by the European Union's structural and development funds, the NSRF’s Operational Programmes, the National Programme of the European Internal Security Fund and the European Integrated Border Management Fund as well as other funding frameworks.
In 2002, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs began implementing the first co-funded projects under the ThirdCommunity Support Framework (CSF). These projects mainly concerned actions of the Diplomatic Academy in two main areas, initial and lifelong Education.
With the establishment of the Special Service for Coordination and Implementation of co funded Programmes, EYSXEP (December 2008), which was renamed to Special Service-Executive Unit of the NSRF of the MFA in December2014 and the acquisition of the Certificate Management Competence (March 2009), an institutional framework was created for planning and monitoring interventions that aim at :
- Enhancing the organizational and operational framework of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Developing New Technologies Infrastructure
- Enhancing Economic Diplomacy tools and mechanisms
- Fostering international collaborations in the fields of mutual interest under the framework of European Territorial Cooperation Programmes.
