Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Fragogiannis, meets with the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, Mrs Claudia Dörr-Voß (Athens, 20 September 2019)

On Friday, 20 September, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Kostas Fragogiannis, met with the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, Mrs Claudia Dörr-Voß, at his office to discuss the legislative and administrative reforms planned by the Government to conjoin all the services involved in the exercise of economic diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr Fragogiannis briefed the German official on how the new structure will help implement the government’s goals for increasing investments in Greece and on actions to enhance the extroversion of Greek enterprises.

The State Secretary stressed that the German Government, acknowledging the intention of the Greek Government to reform the investment environment in Greece, is encouraging the German business community to take advantage of the emerging investment opportunities.

The Deputy Minister and the State Secretary discussed issues of mutual interest to the WTO and the EU and expressed the optimistic belief that impending conferences in Greece and Germany, as well as the participation of Germany as the country of honour at the 2019 Thessaloniki International Fair, will offer opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation between Greece and Germany.
