Minister of Foreign Affairs G. Katrougalos to participate in the proceedings of the 1st Trilateral Ministerial Meeting between Greece, Cyprus and Armenia (Nicosia, 04 June 2019)
Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Katrougalos will travel to Cyprus on Tuesday, 4 June, to participate in the first joint Trilateral Ministerial Meeting between Greece, Cyprus and Armenia, along with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
The three Foreign Ministers, along with their delegations, will discuss regional matters, focusing mainly on the latest developments in the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean, such as the illegal actions by Turkey in the Cypriot EEZ, the situation in Caucasus and the Western Balkans, the EU-Armenian relations, as well as Diaspora and energy issues. The possibilities for reinforced cooperation in fields related to security and stability will also be discussed, in the context of international organisations and among the three countries in particular.
Earlier the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with N. Christodoulides, while he will also participate in a courtesy meeting with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, N. Anastasiades.
On the same day and upon his return to Athens, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will have a working dinner with his Armenian counterpart. Regional and international matters, as well as ways to further consolidate bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest, will be discussed.
