Visit to the Museum of the Republika Srpska in Banja Luka
Visit to the Museum of the Republika Srpska in Banja Luka and warm welcome by Director Miladin Savić and Ms Ivana Pandžić, Curator of Archaeology, who offered a guided expert tour through the Museum.
Ambassador Iliopoulos commended the excellent work of the Museum, adding that all museums play a significant role in the society; they present the centre where overall knowledge is being gathered, which is of special importance for schools and educational institutions, but also for the public in general.
The cooperation of the Embassy with the Republika Srpska Museum dates back to 2011, when the Museum hosted ‘The Battle at Marathon, 490 B.C’ exhibition organized by the Embassy, which permanently remained in the Museum for educational and cultural purposes, given that it was the Battle of Marathon in 490 BC which inspired the Marathon as an Olympic feast, but also numerous marathons organized today worldwide.
