Dinos Konstantinou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Born in Athens, 1972
I. Career:
Ambassador Dinos Konstantinou, was born in Athens in 1972. Member of the Hellenic Diplomatic Service since 1999, he assumed his duties as Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the Czech Republic in October 2024.
From 2000 to 2002, he served at the Political Department for European Countries in the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2002 to 2005 he was a member of the Embassy of Greece in Washington D.C., serving both at the political and consular sections.
From 2006-2008, he had the honor to serve in the Diplomatic Cabinet of the then Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Karamanlis.
From 2008 to 2012, he was appointed political Counsellor and Consul at the Embassy of Greece in Buenos Aires.
From 2012 to 2014 he served at the Political Department for Cyprus, dealing with all aspects of this issue of top national priority.
From 2014 to 2018 he served as Consul General of Greece in São Paulo, the only Greek Consulate in Brazil.
Back to Athens in 2018, he had a vast portfolio at the Political Department for Arab Countries & the Middle East, comprising among others, of Syria, Iraq and Iran.
From 2019 until August 2022, he served as the Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of Greece, Mr. Kostas Karamanlis.
From August 2022 to September 2024, he served as Consul General of Greece in New York.
Since October 2024, he serves as Ambassador of Greece to the Czech Republic.
II. Education
Ambassador Konstantinou graduated from the Moraitis School in 1990 and studied Private International Law at Paris II Panthéon-Assas University of Sorbonne. He speaks fluently English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
III. Interests
Ambassador Konstantinou has participated in 18 Marathons all over the world, while he is also a former Youth Champion in Tennis (1983-1985).
