Alternate Foreign Minister G. Katrougalos visits Estonia – Meets with members of the government

Thursday, 06 April 2017

In Tallinn today, Alternate Foreign Minister G. Katrougalos discussed Greece's positions on the future of Europe – with particular emphasis on the need for a Social Europe – with members of the Estonian government.

Mr. Katrougalos met with the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Matti Maasikas, and Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Kyllike Sillaste-Elling.

Greece's positions, which have already been submitted to the European Commission, were discussed with Estonian Ministers, as their country will be assuming the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union for the second half of 2017.

Also discussed were the Estonian Presidency's priorities, which emphasize digital economy issues. The two sides ascertained a significant convergence of views.

Finally, Mr. Katrougalos met with Metropolitan Stephanos of Tallinn and All Estonia.
