This year's Estonian Wine Fair has a Greek Flavour
On February the 12-13, 2015 will be held in Viru Sokos Hotel the 6th Estonian Sommelier Association Wine Fair. This is the biggest wine event in Estonia bringing together every other year decision makers and wine lovers in a single space.
In this year’ s Wine Fair, visitors will have the opportunity for the first time to discover the impressive quality and uniqueness of Greek wine counting more than 300 varieties, some dating back to Antiquity like Assyrtico, Xinomavro, Limnio or Daphni. Greek wines have been acknowledged internationally as ones of the most elegant and interesting. The numerous awards Greek etiquettes win every year in the biggest international competitions (to quote only one Decanter World Wine Awards) represent a nice proof.
A special stand will gather four leading wineries, which have contributed to establishing this reputation over the last years.
Furthermore, thanks to the National Inter- Professional organization of Vine and Wine of Greece, three masterclasses organized in the framework of the fair will offer both professionals and large public a fascinating journey through Greek wine regions (from Macedonia region to Crete, passing by Nemea region to Santorini Island) and indigenous varieties, allowing them to taste 24 unique etiquettes of 8 Greek producers, most of them have. Moreover the guests will also have the opportunity to discover Tsipouro, produced by the distillation of grape marc, an authentic Greek product closely interwoven with the Greek lifestyle, hospitality and entertainment.
