International Day of Greek Language - Εxhibition of rare publications, Tbilisi, 08.02.2019
The International Day of Greek Language was celebrated with the organization of a cultural event at the Library of the Institute of Classical, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies of the State University of Tbilisi, with the Professor of Byzantine Studies and Director of the Institute Mrs. T. Dolidze as the key speaker. Professor Dolidze presented the contribution of the Greek Language in the development of Theological and Patristic Studies in Georgia, from the 4th century to nowadays.
In the framework of the event, an exhibition of rare publications of Classical Greek Literature and a series of language and grammar manuals as well as dictionaries of "Greek and Pontic Language" published in Russia in the 19th century and in USSR until 1940, took also place .
On the same day , during a prime time radio broadcast of the biggest private channel Rustavi 2, the latest translations of modern Greek authors in Georgian language as well as the reprint of books of Nikos Kazantzakis , were presented by the well known Georgian author L. Bugadze.
