Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Kostas Fragogiannis, meets with Indian Ambassador Shamma Jain (Athens, 1 August 2019)

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Kostas Fragogiannis, met with the Indian Ambassador to Greece, Shamma Jain, on Thursday, 1 August.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the Secretary General for International Economic Relations and Openness, Grigoris Dimitriadis, there was substantial discussion on issues pertaining to bilateral relations and also regarding preparations for the 84th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), at which India is an honoured country.

Through a broad programme of events, with the participation of hi-tech, energy and pharmaceutical companies, the Indian delegation to the TIF will present the focus of a country growing at an explosive rate and pursuing third place among the economic powers worlwide in the next 15 years. In parallel events to be held throughout the seven days of the Fair, there will be presentations of the culture of India, which has a population of over 1.4 billion.
