International Greek Language Day online celebration (9.2.2022)

On 9th February 2022 the Embassy of Greece in India celebrated online the International Greek Language Day ! On this day we celebrate the wealth of the Greek Language and its important role for world culture, as well as the influence it has exerted on other languages worldwide! We were equally happy and proud to add this Event , as our contribution to the celebrations for the 75th Anniversary of the Indian Independence.

As Greece is also celebrating its 200th Independence Anniversary since 25th March 2021, we were particularly glad that this event took place in this happy conjunction.

Very special thanks to the organizer of the event Anil Kumar Singh Director and Assistant Professor of the Chair of Greek Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University of New Delhi. The event had the support of our Embassy and of the Indo-Hellenic Research Center.

H.E. Mr Dionyssios Kyvetos, the Ambassador of Greece in India and H.E. the High Commissioner of Cyprus , Mr Agis Loizou also delivered keynote speeches at the event.
