Message of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Mr Nikos Dendias on the occasion of the Death Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Jee (30.1.2022)

Οn the occasion of the 74th Death Anniversary of  Mahatma Gandhi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Mr Nikos Dendias, posted the following message on his official Twitter account:

"On 30/1/1948 Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the Indian Nation and one of the world leaders of the 20th century passed away.
74 years after Mahatma Gandhi 's death, Greece and India honour his memory, as he would have chosen: by promoting world peace, stability and the elimination of the threat of violence in relations between states."

Attached  photo from the unveiling of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on 26/6/21 in Athens, that took place  in the presence of  Minister of External Affairs of India Dr S. during his state visit to Athens, as well as in the presence of the Foreign Minister of Greece, Mr N. Dendias and the Mayor of Athens, Mr K. Bakoyannis.
