International Greek Language Day (9 February 2022)

In 2007, the 9th of February was designated as “International Greek Language Day”.  The celebration of the Greek language aims to highlight the pivotal role that it has played through the ages. The Greek language is spoken uninterruptedly for the last 40 centuries, it uses the same alphabet for the last 28 centuries and it has the same spelling for the last 24 centuries.
