Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff VADM Petrakis visits Israel

On July 18-20, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice-Admiral Stylianos Petrakis was on an official visit to Israel, following an invitation by his Israeli counterpart Vice Admiral David Saar Salama.

During their meeting at the Haifa Naval Base, the two sides confirmed the high level of bilateral cooperation, explored possibilities for further strengthening the Greek-Israeli partnership and discussed issues of common interest in the wider region.

VADM Petrakis also paid a visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, where he laid a wreath in memory of the Shoah victims. Lastly, he visited privately the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, where he was received by His Beatitude the Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III.
