Delegation of Greek-Israeli Parliamentary Friendship Group visits Israel

On Tuesday, May 10, the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Greek-Israeli Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mr. D. Kairidis and Ms. Ol. Kefalogianni, visited Israel, where they met with members of the Israel-Greece Parliamentary Friendship Group headed by MK Ms. K. Barak, the Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee MK Mr. Ram Ben Barak and the Deputy Director- General of the Israeli MFA, Ambassador Aliza Bin-Noun. The two sides confirmed the excellent level of bilateral relations, discussed steps to further promote inter-parliamentary cooperation and exchanged views on bilateral and regional issues. The Greek delegation was also received by the Knesset Speaker Mr. M. Levy and the Greek MPs were announced as distinguished guests during a Knesset Plenary session held on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of end of World War II.

Furthermore, the Greek delegation visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum and laid a wreath in the Hall of Remembrance to honor the Holocaust victims. The Greek MPs were also received by His Beatitude Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III.
