Event in honor of the Vice President of the European Commission Mr. Μ.Schinas

On June 11th, the Embassy of Greece in Israel and the Salonika and Greece Jewry Heritage Center co-organized an event in honor of the Vice President of the European Commission, Mr. M. Schinas, on the occasion of his official visit to Israel (11-13.6).

The event took place at the Center's premises in Petah Tikva and was attended by the President and members of the Greek- Israeli Concentration Camp Survivors Association, distinguished representatives of the Diaspora as well as Greek and Greek-born Israelis active in the fields of science, art and business.

In his speech, Vice President Schinas presented the European Commission's policies for the protection of Jewish communities in Europe and the safeguarding of Jewish life in all its manifestations, as well as to the EU fight against Antisemitism. He also toured the Center's permanent exhibition, dedicated to the Jewish presence in Greece.
