Thursday, 16 December 2021

The Trilateral Summit among Israel, Cyprus and Greece was held in Jerusalem on Tuesday, December 7, with the participation of the Prime Minister of Israel, Mr. Naftali Bennett, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades and the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis. During the Summit, the three countries agreed to strengthen their cooperation seeking to promote common interests as well as ensure peace, stability, security and prosperity for all three countries in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Summit took stock of recent developments in the broader area and the three leaders adopted a Joint Declaration.

The Greek Prime Minister held a tête-a-tête meeting with Mr. Bennett –the first between the two leaders- within the context of which, the two Premiers reviewed the Greek-Israeli strategic relationship and explored ways of further deepening bilateral partnership.

Following the works of the Trilateral Summit, the Greek Prime Minister was welcomed by the President of the State of Israel, Mr. Isaac Herzog. Both leaders reaffirmed the high level partnership between the two countries and discussed its further enhancement, particularly in the fields of investments, tourism and fight against climate change.
