Solidarity visit to Israel by Prime Minister Mitsotakis (23.10.2023)

Following the atrocious terrorist attack by Hamas on Oct. 7., Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis paid a solidarity visit to Israel, where he met with his counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu. Prime Minister was accompanied by Foreign Minister G. Gerapetritis and Minister of State S. Papastavrou.

During their meeting, Prime Minister Mitsotakis expressed his full support to Israel' s right to self-defense in line with international law and international humanitarian law, called for an immediate and unconditional release of all hostages as well as for access of humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in Gaza, stressing Greece' s readiness to contribute in any possible way.

The Greek Prime Minister also had the opportunity to meet with family members of Israeli hostages, to whom he expressed his deepest sympathy and his wish for an immediate release of all hostages.
