Passports
Passports are issued in cooperation with the Citizen Protection Ministry and the Hellenic Police’s Passport Directorate (8 Chiou St., Kaisariani, 16121, tel: 210 7298000)
To issue a new passport, our Missions abroad take receipt of the necessary documentation, which is sent to the competent Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior.

NOTE: Older passports issued by Prefectures and our Consular Authorities abroad ceased being valid as of 1 January 2007.
In case of loss or theft, the holder of the lost passport must report the loss immediately to the nearest police or consular authority (the same holds true if the lost passport is found). The above authority carries out an investigation (which may last up to 3 months) into the circumstances under which the passport was lost or stolen. During the investigation, a new passport is not issued to the applicant unless it is deemed necessary that the applicant travel abroad to receive medical treatment.After the 3 months period the applicant,when applying for new passport, must submit a copy of the report to the Greek Consulate.
In cases of emergency, provisional travelling documents can be issued by our Consular Missions abroad for the repatriation of Greek citizens.

All the applicants have to apply in person.
For minors (under 18 years old), both parents should also be present and sign the relevant the application.
The passport cost for applicants under 14 years old is three hundred sixty eight Shekels (331,20 NIS) in cash.
Supporting documents for issuing or renewing a Greek passport.
a. An application form provided by the Consular Office.
b. A Certificate of naturalization asked from Greek Authorities by the Consular Office.
c. Two recent specific photos for Greek passport (Photo Linof, 12, Ibn Gvirol St. Tel Aviv, two blocks away from the Embassy). Mention to the photographer that you need them for Greek passport.
d. Original Israeli passport or any other foreign passport.
e. Original Greek passport,valid or expired.
f. Four hundred twenty two shekels (379,8 NIS) in cash.

Holders of Greek passports are kindly advised to communicate with the Embassy’s Consular Office ( ) at least six months before the passport’s date of expiration, so that their application for renewal is scheduled in time
