Greek Cup: Elementary school student soccer tournament in Tomisato, Chiba (June 9, 2013)

The Greek Cup, elementary school student soccer tournament took place in Tomisato Chiba on June 9, 2013. Τhe Mayor of the city Mr. Kenji Aikawa, the Dean of Nihon University Mr. Naoto Kato and Ambassador Nikolaos Tsamados attended the award ceremony.


16 teams participated from the local elementary schools and the winners received the Greek Cup from the Ambassador. The winning team also received a football, while the runner-up received a team shirt, both signed by the players of the Olympiacos FC soccer team in Greece, this year’s champion, which the Greek team offered to the event. The Embassy gave Hellenic Football Federation pins to all the children, while the food and drink import company “Nostimia” and the Greek export olive-oil company “Greekpol” offered Greek exquisite food products. At the event lectures were held for the students and their parents by members of the Japan – Greece Society, students of Nihon University and staff of the company “Nostimia” on the Olympic Games and the Greek diet”. Informational material on Greece was also distributed.
