Marathon exhibition (June 15, 2011)

The Ambassador of Greece Mr. Nikolaos Tsamados inaugurated on June 15, 2011, a weeklong exhibition on the Battle of Marathon The event marking the 2500 years since the battle was organized with the help of the Kyoritsu Women’s University in Tokyo, where it also took place. It was attended by the Athens Olympic Marathon gold medalist Ms. Mizuki Noguchi, the President of JAAF (Japan Association of Athletics Federations) and former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Yohei Kono and a great number of distinguished guests and students. Donations were made on that day to the profit of the victims of the great east Japan earthquake.

Paintings and messages of support by Greek children to Japan and its people following the disastrous Μarch 11th 2011 earthquake were also exhibited.
