Visit of Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Olga Kefalogianni, in the context of the 2024 Greece-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism (24-27/9) - Presentation of the commemorative bilingual edition of Nikos Kazantzakis's work and opening of the Photography Exhibition "Greece-In the land of dreams" by Robert McCabe

In the context of the celebrations of the 2024 Greece-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism, as well as of this year's 125th anniversary from the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries, Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Olga Kefalogianni, visited Tokyo, in the last week of September, accompanied by officials of the Ministry of Tourism and the Greek National Tourism Organization.

During her visit, Mrs. Kefalogianni met with Governor of Tokyo, Mrs. Koike, the Chairman and a high-ranking delegation of KEIDANREN, Japanese Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Minister, Mr. Saito, Chairman Mr. Kono, Minister for Digital Transformation, and members of the Japan-Greece Parliamentary Friendship League, Commissioner for Cultural Affairs, Mr. Tokura, as well as President of the Board of Japan Association of Tourism Agents (JATA), Mr. Takahashi, while she also participated in the Ministerial Roundtable of the Tokyo Tourism Expo. Mrs. Kefalogianni had, also, an audience with H.I.H. Princess Kako.

During the of Minister Kefalogianni in Tokyo, the Embassy, in cooperation with the Japan Greece Society, organized a book presentation of the commemorative, bilingual (Greek-Japanese) edition the traveling chronicle "Travels in Japan" by Nikos Kazantzakis, with Dr. Fukuda and Mr. Yashikawa as the keynote speakers. The event was graced by the presence of H.I.H. Princess Takamado as our Guest of Honour.

On 25/9, Minister Kefalogianni formally opened at the Hillside Gallery in Tokyo the Photography Exhibition by Robert McCabe "Greece - In the land of dreams". The Japanese Government was represented by Vice Minister for Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology, Mrs. Abe.
