Act of birth

BIRTH REGISTRATION

To have a birth registered with the Consular Office of the Embassy of Greece in Tokyo, the birth must have taken place in the Consular Office’s jurisdiction and to submit the following documents (Please note that before a birth can be registered the parents’ marriage must already have been registered in Greece):

1. Application to the Consular Office,
2. Registration Certificate from the Greek Municipality where the parents are registered. The document must have been issued the last 6 months.
3. Birth Certificate,
4. If there has been a christening, the Church Baptism Certificate,
5. Greek passport / ID.

The fee for an act of birth is €1.00 (Presidential Decree 116, 30.04.2006, Government Gazette 96, Volume I).   The cost for each copy is €1.00. There will be 2 copies required therefore the total cost will be €3.00.
