1.3.2014.Amman photographic exhibition entitled “Macedonian Decapolis in Jordan and the Kingdom of Macedonia”.
Amman, 1 March 2014: Ambassador of Greece in Jordan, Ms Maria Louisa Marinaki, organized a Photo Exhibition at «Gallery-Ras Al Ain» in Amman, under the Patronage of Mr. Akel Biltaji, Mayor of Amman, on a photographic itinerary in Jordan, through the lens of photographer Mr. Orestis Kourakis.
The Exhibition, 1-13 March 2014, shows the historic and cultural ties that Greece and Jordan share in the course of history, mainly in Hellenistic period, and is entitled “Macedonian Decapolis in Jordan and the Kingdom of Macedonia”.
The following two presentations took place at the Exhibition venue the day of the inauguration, as well as at the Department of Archeology of Petra University, in Amman on 2 March, with the following themes:
“The Kingdom of Ancient Macedonia and the Hellenistic World” by Mrs Polyxeni Adam-Veleni, Director of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki,
Greek cities of the Hellenistic World and their archetypes” by Mrs Aggeliki Kottaridi, Director of the 17th Ephorate of Antiquities of Edessa and Director of the Archaeological Museum of Vergina.
