Announcement of the Embassy of Greece: preventive measures implemented by the Greek Government against the spread of COVID-19

The Embassy of Greece wishes to inform the public that due to preventive measures implemented by the Greek Government against the spread of COVID-19, no entry of nationals of third countries will be allowed to  Greece for the period of 18/3/2020 to 18/4/2020,  by any means.

The following categories are exempted:

a)    Citizens of EU and Schengen Agreement  M-S,  along with their spouses or  partners in law
b)    and their under-aged children
c)    Medical and paramedical personnel or any other  health industry related professional with proof of intention to join the National Health System
d)    Residents of EU and Schengen Agreement  M-S and citizens of third countries holders of a residence permit of one of the EU and Schengen Agreement  M-S
e)    Members of official government delegations
f)    Members of diplomatic or consular authorities, members of international and European organizations, members of humanitarian organizations on a mission, military and public safety personnel
g)    Truck drivers carrying goods and their absolutely necessary assistants for the transport of the goods
h)    Transit passengers

Please note that:
-  No other applications will be accepted until further notice.
-  No submitted  application will be taken into consideration, unless travel is scheduled after  May 1, 2020.
- VISA’s already issued for the period 18/3-18/4/2020, will have to be revoked and/or be re- issued on a subsequent date,  if necessary.
- Applications already processed but not collected by applicants, for travels between 18/3-18/4/2020,  will be rejected or reconsidered for a later date. These applications will be reconsidered provided that new documentation is submitted with the application.
