European Day of Languages
The European Day of Languages was celebrated in Amman, on Saturday 10 October, at the premises of the cultural and educational institutions of the EUNIC-Jordan member countries (Greek Embassy, Goethe Institute, Società Dante Alighieri, Instituto Cervantes, Institut Français, British Council).
This year's celebrations were dedicated to "Traveling" as presented through the works of great European literary figures. Greece's participation consisted of the works of Homer "Iliad" and "Odyssey". Based on the travels of the Greeks and of Ulysses, children had the opportunity to engage in creative activities, while at the same time there were presentations on Homer and on the impact of traveling on the formulation of the Greek civilization. Finally, traveling was connected to tourism and hosting, principal values of the Greek culture.
