European Day of Languages
The European Day of Languages is a European celebration that honors lifelong language learning as an instrument of human efforts to communicate with each other and to increase the understanding of their cultural differences.
There are approximately 6.000-7.000 spoken languages around the world with about 225 indigenous languages in Europe.
The European Day of Languages is celebrated in Jordan under the auspices of EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture), on Saturday September 27, in various sites in Amman, (Greek Embassy/Greek Orthodox Church Hall Diodoros in Swefieh, Goethe Institute, Società Dante Alighieri, Instituto Cervantes, Institut Français, British Council).
We are inviting you to come celebrate with us and get acquainted with the sounds and the sights of Europe.
