The Festival, which was organised for the first time in history, opened a window to Greece for the Lebanese public with the ambition to renew the traditionally strong relations between the two Mediterranean countries, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Tourism of Lebanon and the Greek National Tourist Organisation

The Minister of Tourism in Lebanon (Avedis Guidanian), the Ambassador of Greece in Lebanon, Franciscos Verros, representatives of the local authorities, the Ambassador of Cyprus to Lebanon, members of the Greek community as well as thousands of Lebanese friends attended the event.

The Ambassador, during his intervention, highlighted the contribution of the festival to the promotion of the Greek civilisation in Lebanon but also of Lebanon in Greece and stressed the importance of the event in the strengthening of the cooperation between the two countries.

During the festival a lot of parallel events took place including a live music program and Greek movies projections. The participants had the opportunity to have a taste of Greece thanks to the gastronomic stands that offered traditional Greek food and wine.

For the first time in Lebanon, two copies of ancient sculptures form the Acropolis Museum where exhibited.
