Foreign Ministry announcement on the second anniversary of the abduction of Bishop Paul of Aleppo and Syrian Orthodox Bishop Yohanna

“Today, it has unfortunately been two years since the abduction in Syria of Bishop Paul of Aleppo and Syrian Orthodox Bishop Yohanna, whose fates remain unknown.

The Greek government supports with all its power the international efforts to locate and free the abducted bishops, and it calls on all sides to make every effort to end the violence in the region; violence that has caused an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, waves of refugees, and destruction of monuments of incalculable cultural value.”
