Senses of Greece at the Casino du Liban

The "Senses of Greece" Nights were officially launched on Wednesday 4th of September at "Casino du Liban" on the summer terrace restaurant "La Martingale", under the auspices of the Greek Embassy in Lebanon.

The ceremony was attended by H.E Greek Ambassador to Lebanon Franciscos Verros, the Chairman of the Casino du Lebanon Roland Khoury and a number of political, economic and media figures.

Verros congratulated the Casino du Liban for organizing this festival in his speech saying: “Allow me first to welcome you on behalf of the Greek Embassy tonight which is the first of 12 consecutive evenings, when you will have the chance to experience the senses of Greece at the Casino du Liban. I can only congratulate the casino management on this idea of organizing these evenings, which will include music, dance, food, wine and other drinks from Greece.


“The participation of the famous singer Tina Alexopoulou and her band , as well as the famous chef Arthouros Arakelyan, and of the dance group offered by the Greek community in Beirut, guarantee the authenticity of what you see and you will experience.

"I am grateful to our sponsors, The Greek community of Beirut, MEA airlines, Muses estates for its excellent wines, Dedalos travel and Mr. Katsaros for his high quality ouzo."

" I also thank all those who contributed to this wonderful idea come true especially the colleagues from the Embassy as well as the journalist George Eid for his efforts in promoting the event. I also thank Mrs. Joelle Aziz " he concluded, wishing "a happy evening for the participants", as he invited them to "taste the best Greek food and drinks."

"Senses of Greece" will last until the 15th of September, combining gastronomy with Chef Arthur Arakelyan and the Greek singing art with the famous singer Tina Alexopoulou who will perform the most beautiful songs including the famous Zorba and Syrtaki dances.
