Visit to the Hellenic Frigate Spetsai

Ambassador of Greece in Lebanon, Mr. Franciscos Verros visited the Hellenic Navy Frigate Spetsai and met with the Captain Dimitrios Lampiris.

The Frigate Spetsai is in Lebanon joining the United Nations Interim Force (UNIFIL). The Hellenic Navy participates in UNIFIL since 2006 furthering the ties between Greece and Lebanon to the benefit of regional stability and security. Currently Greece contributes to UNIFIL with 153 troops.

Apart from the Greek participation in UNIFIL, officers of the Lebanese Armed Forces have been trained, from 2005 till 2011 in the Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Center in Kilkis, Greece. Greece also participated in the June 2014 Rome Conference on support to Lebanese Armed Forces.

Greece remains committed in further developing our military cooperation and strengthening our relations in the security field and beyond.
