National Service

For information pertaining to national service affairs, interested parties in Greece can contact the local national service offices. Persons residing abroad can contact the competent national service department of the Ministry of National Defence.

MILITARY EXEMPTIONS

A.    APPLICANTS THAT HAVE BEEN BORN AND LIVING IN LEBANON
Prerequisites:
1.    Certificate of attendance in primary and high school
2.    If he has been studying in university, his diploma
3.    Certificate from the police for travels to Greece
4.    Certificate of residence from the Municipality (Muhtar)
5.    Certificate of parents’ residence from the Municipality (Muhtar)
6.    Family or/and birth certificate from Greece
7.    In case he has not finished school, he should bring a certificate of attendance and a certificate of work


B.    APPLICANTS THAT ARE LIVING IN LEBANON FOR FINANCIAL REASONS
Prerequisites:
1.    Greek ID
2.    Birth certificate from Greece
3.    Work certificate in Lebanon for 7 years
4.    Certificate of insurance
5.    Certificate of residence from the Municipality (Muhtar)


C.    APPLICANTS THAT ARE LIVING IN LEBANON FOR MORE THAN 11 YEARS
Prerequisites:
1.    Certificate of parents’ insurance
2.    Family certificate from Greece
3.    Birth certificate from Greece
4.    Certificate of school attendance
5.    Certificate from the police for travels to Greece
6.    Certificate of residence in Lebanon for more than 11 years
7.    Certificate of parents’ work
8.    Certificate of permanent residency

All the above need to be ratified by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and translated either in Greek or in English.
