Joint statement of the Third Meeting of the Joint Interdisciplinary Committee of Experts (JICE) for historical, archaeological and educational issues of the Prespes Agreement

Joint statement of the Third Meeting of the Joint Interdisciplinary Committee of Experts (JICE) for historical, archaeological and educational issues, established in accordance with Article 8, p.5 of the Prespes Agreement.

The Third Meeting of JICE was held in Athens on 12 and 13 of April 2019 in a friendly, constructive and positive atmosphere. Progress was made regarding the task of the Committee.

The conclusions of the Second Meeting were reaffirmed and further elaborated upon.

Both sides agreed to carry on with the implementation of the mandate assigned to them by the Prespes Agreement within the framework of principles and objectives of UNESCO and the Council of Europe.

Deliberations were made upon curricula of both sides. Issues on history schoolbooks were also discussed.
