Covid-19 Closure of the borders of Norway for foreign nationals

The Norwegian Government has introduced new stricter rules for entry into Norway to stop the spread of coronavirus mutation. The following changes will take effect at 00:01 on Friday 29 January 2021.

The Government will be closing the borders to foreign nationals who do not reside permanently in Norway (not having a P-number), including EEA-citizens.

Groups with permission to enter include members of diplomatic and consular missions, close relatives to persons who are resident in Norway (spouse, minor children), journalists on assignment for a foreign media institution, foreign nationals who perform commercial transport of goods and passengers for payment, seamen and holders of a valid aviation personnel license en route to or from active service or foreign nationals who will only be staying in airport transit before departing Norway.
