Ambassador Konstantinos KOLLIAS
Ambassador Konstantinos Kollias joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic in 1993.
He started his career as Attaché at the Directorate for South East Europe countries.
In 1995 he started his tenure as Secretary of Embassy at the Greek Embassy in Tirana, Albania (political affairs). Two years later, in 1997, he took over his position at the Greek Embassy in Madrid, Spain, in charge of the Consular Office as well as at the political desk of the Embassy (1997-2001).
Coming back to Athens, he served between 2001 and 2003 at the Office of the Secretary General for Administrative Affairs and Organization.
From 2003 to 2008 he was Counsellor on political issues at the Greek Embassy in Nicosia, Cyprus.
In Athens, he served as Director of the Office of the Secretary General for European Affairs (2008-2010).
From 2010 to 2015 he served as Counsellor and Charge d’ Affairs for a certain time, at the Greek Embassy in Bucharest, Romania, before returning to Greece and taking over as Director of the Office of the Secretary General for International Economic Relations and Development Cooperation (2015-2016).
He was promoted to Minister Plenipotentiary in 2016.
He served as Director of the Directorate for International Energy Issues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2016 to 2018 before taking over his post as Director of the A2 Cyprus Directorate.
He was born in Athens in 1964, he studied Political Science and Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He speaks English, French and Spanish.
He is married and has two children.
He was honored with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Phoenix (Greece), the Commander of the Order of Makarios III (Cyprus) and the Grand Commander of the Order of Honors (Cyprus).
