Meeting of the Permanent Representative, Ambassador Anna Korka, with the Secretary General of the International Federation of the Red Cross, Mr Elhadj As Sy

Yesterday, our Permanent Representative, Ambassador Anna Korka, had a meeting with the Secretary General of the International Federation of the Red Cross Mr Elhadj As Sy. The Permanent Representative thanked Mr As Sy for the humanitarian assistance and guidance provided by the IFRC in Greece in the context of the refugee/migratory crisis, as well as for the support of the IFRC to the Hellenic Red Cross. The Permanent Representative also thanked Mr As Sy for the mobilization of other Red Cross National Societies in support of the Hellenic Red Cross. Mr As Sy expressed appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Greek government in dealing with the migratory/refugee flows, as well as for the important contribution of the Hellenic Red Cross and its volunteers in improving the humanitarian situation of the population in need. They both agreed to continue the regular dialogue regarding the fruitful cooperation between the International Federation and the Hellenic Red Cross.
