Meeting with Director General of WIPO (12.02.2014)
Ambassador Alexis Alexandris, met with the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Mr Francis Gurry accompanied by the Greek Deputy Permanent Representative Mrs Constantina Athanassiadou and the expert in charge of Intellectual Property issues, Mrs Evi Nakiou.
The discussion focused mainly on the Greek Presidency’s agenda regarding intellectual property and in particular on two major events which will be organised in Athens by the the Hellenic Copyright Organization (OPI) namely a) the conference on “Patents and Flexibilities” to be held on the 28 of April 2014, in the framework of Mr. Gurry’s visit in Greece and b) the conference entitled “Copyright and the Digital Agenda for Europe: Current Regulations and Challenges for the Future” scheduled for the 6th of June 2014.
The two parts reaffirmed their conviction that Intellectual Property is a tool for sustainable, balanced and healthy economic growth and expressed their will for an ever closer cooperation in the future.
