Meeting with new UNCTAD Secretary General (5.02.2014)

Ambassador Alexis Alexandris met with the  the new Secretary General of UNCTAD Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi accompanied by the Greek Deputy Permanent
Representative Mrs Constantina Athanassiadou and the Counsellor in charge of UNCTAD issues, Mrs Rhea Tsitsani.
The discussion focused mainly on the 50th anniversary of the Organization in June 2014 with the participation of the UN Secretary
General Ban Ki Moon and on the measures taken by the Mr Kituyi towards the implementation of the Joint Inspection Unit conclusions. The two sides had a fruitful exchange of views on the occasion of the Greek Presidency and reaffirmed their commitment to a constructive relationship, while the Secretary General expressing his confidence in the ongoing cooperation with the EU.
