OFFICIAL VISIT OF SECRETARY GENERAL OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND POSTS MR. DIMITRIOS TZORTZIS

The World Forum on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum was held in Geneva from 25 to 29 May 2015.

Greece was represented by the Secretary General Of Telecommunications And Posts (Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Shipping and Tourism) Mr. Dimitrios Tzortzis. Mr. Tzortis delivered a speech during the High Level Track of the Forum on the 26th of May, highlighting the priorities of Greece in the field of ICT's development. Furthermore, he reassured that the new Greek government will build upon the relations that they have flourished between Greece and ITU during the past years.

As he pointed out, Greece is presently undergoing one of the most severe crisis of its recent history, nevertheless the existing scientific resources of the country need a push to be triggered off.

In the margins of the WSIS Forum Mr. Tzortzis also met with the Secretary General of ITU Mr. Houlin Zhao and the Deputy Secretary General Mr. Malcolm Johnson"
