On 17 March 2015, the Secretary General of Public Health Mr. Ioannis Baskozos met with Dr. Oleg Chestnov, Assistant Director General for Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) and Mental Health of the WHO.

Mr. Chestnov informed the Secretary General on the organizational chart and senior management of the WHO.  Also, he presented the priorities of his sector (Non Communicable Diseases and Mental Health).  Dr Chestnov mentioned that the DG consults with the M-S whereas his mandate is the implementation of the decisions adopted by the WHA.

The Secretary General of Public Health Mr. I. Baskozos, pointed out that a top priority for the Greek government is to ensure universal access and to establish an integrated public primary and secondary healthcare system, focusing on prevention and health education.
