Photo Exhibition "The Right to Smile"
On the March 13, 2014, the Permanent Mission of Greece to the UN in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the EU, the Permanent Mission of Urugay and the NGO "Child Rights Connect’’ organized a photo exhibition entitled ‘’The Right to Smile- Realizing children’s rights around the world‘’, presenting the work of Mrs Dionysia Alexiadi, a distinguished Greek photographer and painter.
Apart from the Permanent Representative of Greece to the UN, ambassador Alexis Alexandris, speeches were delivered for the occasion by the acting Director-General of the UN Office in Geneva, Michael Moller, the Head of the Permanent Delegation of the EU, ambassador Mariangela Zappia, the Permanent Representative of Uruguay, Laura Dupuy Lasserre as well as the representative of the NGO "Child Rights Connect’’.
The photo exhibition lies within the context of the activities taken up by the Greek Presidency of the Council of the EU and it was triggered as an idea by a Resolution, concerning the protection of the Children’s Rights, approved recently by the EU and the Grulac (Group of Latin American and Caribbean Countries in the United Nations).
The above mentioned exhibition, depicting carefree Children΄s smiles from thirty different countries, will be open to the public until the 21st of March 2014.
