WIPO 27th session of the Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore (IGC), Geneva, 24/3-4/4/2014

The 27th session of the Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore (IGC) was held at WIPO's headquarters from 24 March to April 4th, 2014.

The Committee addressed the topics of Traditional Knowledge (1st week) and Traditional Cultural Expressions (2nd week).

With the view to a better understanding of the main points and cross cutting issues, Member States along with NGO’S and representatives of indigenous communities worldwide (the main beneficiaries of a possible instrument), engaged constructively in the negotiations and devoted enough time into informal meetings at expert level as well as informal informals.

The Greek Presidency along with the European Union  actively participated during the session to take the work of this Committee forward, under the guidance of the Chair of this Committee His Excellency Ambassador Wayne McCook of Jamaica.
