World Health Organization 68th World Health Assembly

In the 68th World Health Assembly (WHO) Greece represented by the Greek Minister of Health, Mr. Panagiotis Kouroumplis and the Secretary General of Public Health,  Mr. Ioannis Baskozos. The Greek Minister of Health, delivered his speech on Monday, 18 May 2015.


On 18 & 19 May 2015, in the margins of the World Health Assembly, the Minister of Health, Mr. Panayiotis Kouroumplis, accompanied by the Secretary-General of Public Health, Mr. Yannis Baskozos and the Permanent Representative, Ambassador Alexandris, met with:
•    the Director General of the WHO Dr. Margaret Chan and discussed the issue of disconnection of pricing of medicines from the cost of research and development of clinical trials
•    the Federal Minister of Health Mr. Hermann Gröhe and the Minister of Health of Turkmenistan. 
•    the WHO Regional Director for Europe Dr Zsuzsanna Jakab and it was agreed the continuation of the close cooperation with the Regional Office on the basis of the programme priorities of the new government on the establishment of a comprehensive Primary Health System with universal health coverage.
